Gigi’s kindergarten music performance was on Thursday. She was terribly excited to get all dolled up for the show. An Easter dress, purse, high heels and hot rollers were necessary in order for her to sing her best.
Before the show, she met up with her friends from kindergarten. There were two classes of five and six year olds hanging out in her classroom. I can only imagine the chaos that was in there, but when they were ready to come into the venue, they were perfectly behaved little ladies and gentlemen. They peeped around the room, seeking out familiar faces, and waved wildly when they saw someone they knew. Our Gigi was no exception.
She made her way onstage with her pals, and proceeded to entertain us with the songs The Body Boogie, Snack Time and and Listen to the Beat of my Heart. She swayed, she sang, she squatted, she hopped, she tickled and she chatted. She was only supposed to sway and sing, but she wanted to put on the very best performance, so she added a little bit extra…
After it was all over, we thanked her wonderful music teacher, Ms. Ries, who always leads a great performance. Gigi always reports that music is her very favorite ‘special’ and is quite excited that next year she gets music instruction TWICE every week! Then we rushed home where Gigi slept with a ski hat on in an attempt to preserve her curls. (It worked, lovely curls hung from her head the next day too!)
