I watched a movie recently that used the song Daughter by Louden Wainwright and that song just got stuck in my head.  Last weekend I purchased the[singlepic id=48 w=320 h=240 float=right] song on itunes and decided that Gigi and I should make a movie about her, using the song as the background soundtrack. Together we chose dozens of beautiful pictures and video clips of her as she grew from infancy, through toddlerhood and up to today, totally representative of my daughter. As a parent, I like to capture the essence of my girl, so in the movie there are photos of her smiling, crying, and scowling. It is a fun movie.
Today, I decided to play it again for the kids. Jude was on my lap and Gigi by my side as we watched the movie. Jude was enchanted by the images of this lovely baby, one after another after another. Suddenly, he started to cry. And it was right after the picture posted first in this article. So we tested, was it in fact the picture of [singlepic id=44 w=320 h=240 float=left]Gigi’s scowl? We rewound, and while the scowl picture was on the screen he stared, unable to tear his eyes away from the terrifying picture. As soon as the movie passed that image, again, he started to wail. Still in disbelief, we tested again. We let the movie play long enough until he was settled down and played that picture again. Terror again and this time he was inconsolable once the image left the screen! It took a good 15 minutes until he was sweet little happy Jude again. Poor Jude, apparently Gigi really has a great power over him!
I’ve included a few extra baby pictures, so you can see she wasn’t always using that terrifying scowl![singlepic id=45 w=320 h=240 float=left][singlepic id=41 w=320 h=240 float=right]

hannah added these pithy words on May 16 09 at 6:00 pmI love this song as well. It is the song that I walked with my dad down the aisle at my wedding. It makes me very happy to listen to. I’d like to see this movie, but can you edit out the scary picture?
