For Gigi’s actual birthday we decided to let her decorate her own cake.  I had purchased a new frosting gun that boasted the ability to make swirly and beautiful roses all over a cake.  Gigi was convinced that she was going to be able to master this skill with no problem.  She did pretty well!  I love the level of concentration that is evident in her face as she decorates her cake.

On the night of her birthday the cake glowed just right and wishes were made over its luminescent surface.  And the taste?  Lovely, made even sweeter by the decorations of a newly minted six year old!
