Jude’s morning starts any time between 5:30 and 7:00. Either Bradley or I drag ourselves out of our comfy bed and make our way across the house to Jude’s room. Imagine our faces, carved with the grey lines of exhaustion and sleep crinkles. We enter his room where we find the boy, pink and rosy, overjoyed and squealing with happiness to see us. We are tired, but he is thrilled because The day has BEGUN! He hands us his blankie (he never leaves his crib without one) and we pull him out of his crib an make our way to the fridge to get his milk poured while Jude hangs on the fridge hollering EEEEE! EEEE! Which means ‘eat’. We get two eggs scrambling immediately. He scarfs them down and then the morning has truly begun. This is when Jude does his work.
His work is going into his room to find a toy that looks attractive. He carries it out to the living room or kitchen, plays with it for a moment and then he sees something else that is even MORE interesting: dog food, broom, fridge magnet, dust bunny, etc. He promptly drops the toy to get to the newer/better/more interesing item. When boring of that item, he goes back to his room, rummages around for something new, and starts the process all over again. This cycle continues until about 8:30 or 9:00 when his work is finished and naptime commences. The following are photos I took of all the toys he managed to drag out in one morning. When he is asleep, Brdley or I usually pick up the toys and he begins again post rest. Making art is hard work.

Peggy added these pithy words on Aug 03 09 at 4:08 pmThat looks pretty tame considering how many toys he has.
